Abstract

Objective:To reveal the values of IL 6 in serum and bile in relation to cholecystitis gallbladder carcinomas. Methods:Using the technique of ELISA,the values of IL 6 in serum and bile in the patients with acute cholecystitis (15 cases), chronic cholecystitis (15),gallbladder carcinoma(10) and normal case (3) were determined respectively. Results:The values of IL 6 in serum and bile in the patients with acute cholecystitis were obviously higher than that in the patients with carcinomas, chronic cholecystitis and normal cases ( P 0.01). The values of IL 6 in bile in the patients with carcinomas were obviously higher than that in the patients with chronic cholecystitis and normal cases ( P 0.05).Conclusion:The increased level of IL 6 in serum reflects the degree of systemic inflammatory reaction of the patients with acute cholecystitis;whereas the increased elevel of IL 6 in bile reflects the degree of local inflammatory reaction of gallbladders. IL 6 could be used as tumor markers in the diagnosis of gallbladder carcinomas.
