RESEARCH ON THE INFLUENZA SURVEILLANCE DATA OF INFLUENZA PANDEMIC IN BAOJI CITY OF SHAANXI PROVINCE FROM 2009 TO 2010

Abstract

[Objective]To analyze the data of the influenza-Like illness(ILI)collected via surveillance system in Baoji of Shaanxi Province from 2009 to 2010,understand the characteristics of influenza pandemic,and provide scientific basis for the prevention and control strategies of influenza.[Methods]The influenza surveillance data in Baoji from September 2009 to May 2010 were collected,and the influenza virus nucleic acid detection was conducted by fluorescent RT-PCR,so the characteristic of influenza pandemic were analyzed through the experiments.[Results]Influenza surveillance showed that the average proportion of ILI during September 2009 to May 2010 was 9.90% in our city. Of the 680 samples detected,the positive rate of the influenza virus nucleic acid detection was 39.12%,while the positive rate for H1N1 was 30.73% and that for Influenza B was 5.30%. Teenage aged from 15-25 and children aged from 5-15 took the largest proportion of the positive illness cases,the respective percentage was 47.37% and 36.84%.[Conclusion]Influenza virus strains were mainly in autumn and winter with the double-peak feature. H1N1 influenza was prevalent from September to December 2009,and Influenza B was prevalent from January to May 2010. Influenza prevailed more easily among teenagers and children. So the ILI surveillance can give pre-warning of influenza prevalence and research on the characteristics of influenza pandemic can provide scientific basis for the prevention and control strategies of influenza.
