A Reform of Experiment Class in Medical Statistics for Graduates:the Application of SPSS-assisted PBL Teaching Model

Medical statistics is one of the compulsory subjects for medical postgraduates.It is an indispensable tool for medical research.However,the postgraduates,the ability of use of statistics is much less than the teaching objectives.Therefore,the author analyzed the current status and shortcomings of experimental class teaching and studied the trend on teaching reform of medical statistics,then built up a new teaching model in which PBL and SPSS statistical software are closely integrated.How to carry out the teaching and examination of this model were expatiated.The model took resolving practical problems in medicine as the aim with emphasis on cultivating ability of tacking good use of statistical theory and statistical analysis software in science research.It will greatly arouse the enthusiasm of students in learning,help the students to build up the system of statistical knowledge and scientific thinking and enhance practical ability in medical statistics.
