Abstract

Microbial antagonists can colonization on the host surface, resistant to the environment stress and suppress the pathogen infection of the horticulture products during the pre and postharvest time. This paper provides a brief overview on the particular aspects of application of biocontrol agents to reduce postharvest decay by microbial antagonists. Include mixture of antagonists, integrated control with the use of pesticides, adjuvant to improve biocontrol activity, genetically engineered strain and so on. Research areas relevant for development of this strategy are also indicated.
