Abstract
The Shuidongxia Ophiolite is mainly composed of peridotite gabbro and basalt.Sm-Nd age of the basalt is 492.9±22.6Ma indicating it is product of early Ordovician magmatic activity.The basalt show highter SiO2 and TiO2 contents,and The light REE enriched,essentially no Eu anomaly.In the incompatible elements.the basalt have low Th / Ta ratios.higher Ta / Hf ratios These geochemical characteristics of the basalts are similar to the WPB,but evidently differently from OIB.On the identification diagram of setting,the basalts are all ploted in the area of WPB.According to the regional geological characteristics and geochemistry,the ophiolite be formed with plate tholeiites.
