Abstract
Oncomelania hupensis snail is the only intermediate host of Schistosoma japonicum. Blocking the spread of the snails can effectively prevent and control the transmission of schistosomiasis. Based on the survival conditions and migration characteristics of the snails in the water, the technology of pumping water at the middle level of water body can effectively prevent the spreading of snails. This paper reviews the current researches on the spreading trend of snails in China, characteristics of snail migration, and the theoretical basis of the technology of pumping water at the middle level of water body as well as its application.
