Abstract
By Taking design of two multi-purpose vessel propellers as examples, the effects of increasing propeller rake, changing blade area and increasing propeller skew on propeller efficiency and induced pressure fluctuation are investigated by means of theoretical propeller design method and model tests. The results of the study indicate that reducing cavitation margin to increase blade area can get significant effectiveness for propeller induced pressure pulse reduction, increasing propeller skew also have obvious effectiveness for the pressure pulse reduction, the effectiveness from the clearance between propeller tip and ship hull by increasing propeller rake is relatively small.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
