Abstract
Theoretically, the geopotential on the geoid, geoid constant W_0,determines the gure and size of the geoid. The systmetic error from W_0 will directly give rise to the shift of the geoid.Hence, how to accurately determine W_0 is a problem seriously interested by many geodesists. In this paper, based on the ctitious compress recovery approach,an approach different from the conventional methods for determining the geoid geopotential shift W is provided.
