Abstract
New Poetry represents a transition from traditional forms to modern ones. From late Qing Dynasties to May 4th New Poetry Movement, poetry embarked on a path of advancing with the times. The transformation of poetry expanded the avenue for the emergence and development of New Poetry, while such a transformation itself represents a development period for the poetry to modernize. The modernizing trend is reflected in the advancement of the texture, language and forms of poems. Nanshe Poetry represents the development of Chinese poetry during the times both on an overall level and some specific ones.
