Abstract
Formation damage and low flowback rate are problems occurred during fracturing in low permeability reservoirs. This paper studies LPG fracturing technology and analyzes its characteristics, stimulation mechanism and field application results. The result indicates that LPG fracturing is featured by high flowback rate of fracturing fluid, longer effective fractures, and miscibility of fracturing fluid with reservoir fluids.Numerical simulation and field production data indicate that the stimulation effect of LPG fracturing technology is obviously superior to that of hydraulic fracturing of equal scale.LPG fracturing technology is applicable to highly water-sensitive reservoirs and low pressure and low permeability reservoirs, and especially for unconventional ultralow permeability reservoirs such as tight gas and CBM.
