Abstract
From Feb to Dec.2003,the seasonal changes in the ecological feature of phytoplankton community, including species composition, population size, dominant species, saprobic indicators, water quality, were studied at 15 sampling station in Jinjiang River.Through identifying,7 phylum,73 genera and 170 species of phytoplankton have been recorded. The annual mean density of phytoplankton has reached 193.5×10~3 per litre number of individual. All these indicate that Jinjiang River belongs to a River of type of Bacillariophyta algae of β_mesosaprobic.Basing upon these biological and water quality parameters, the saprobic degree were evaluated for the River.
