As a master writer,Nathaniel Hawthorne takes allegory as a basic narrative form for his writing and focuses his theme on the exploration of human nature.In parallel with his innovative development of the allegorical narrative form in his fiction,Hawthorne's perception of human nature shows a perceptible change from Puritanism to Humanism.His long-term thematic concern with humanity,complementing and complemented by his creative use of allegory as a form of narrative art,helps Hawthorne move forward steady-fast in his fiction writing toward artistic consummation.
