Abstract
Objective:To investigate the anti-tumor effect of the endothelin A receptor antagonist BQ123 on the human prostate cancer cell line PC3 in vitro by observing its impact on the proliferation and apoptosis of human prostate cancer cells. Methods:The inhibiting effect of BQ123 on the proliferation of PC3 cells was observed by MTT assay, erasion trace test and Traswell chamber chemotaxis assay, and its induction of their apoptosis determined by Annexin V-FITC/PI staining and flow cytometry.Results:BQ123 inhibited the migration and invasion abilities of PC3 cells in a dose-dependent manner and induced their apoptosis as well.Conclusion:BQ123 inhibits the proliferation of PC3 cells in a dose-dependent manner and induces their apoptosis in vitro, which has offered a new idea for the treatment of prostate cancer.
