Abstract
North Changjiang Estuary and south Nantong Yangzhou has experienced the process from shallow sea to land since Holocene. 4ka,B.P.ago, the district had been reduced into a huge bay as a funnel, and the estuarine sand bars developed very well in the Estuary.Since 4ka,B.P.,the sand bars have merged into the land which has expanded gradually in the Estuary,and the coastline of north Changjiang Estuary moved southeastwards.
