Abstract
MATLAB optimization toolbox is a powerful tool in modern computing area and it is widely used in engineering fields. Based on the principle of Kuhn-Tucker(K-T) formula, this paper gives the method of arm design in down-hole drill by using Matlab optimization toolbox. First, the objective function and the optimization constraints were established. Then the program of optimal design was given. The experimental result shows that the method proposed in this paper can improve the precision and shorten the calculating time. The method is expected to have wider potential applications in engineering fields.
