Abstract

The subject librarian system is the key factor for the university library to develop information consultancy service.This paper probes into the significance of establishing the subject librarian system in the university library,analyzes on the functions and effects of the subject librarians,and discusses on what kinds of qualities and abilities subject librarians should have for providing higher level information service for the teaching and scientific researching of the university.
