Abstract
CIS(CIGS) based solar cells become the most promising solar cells in tertiary generation solar cells with their so many virtues. In this article, the performance characteristics of this thin film solar cells are introduced under the influence of CIGS thin films′ characteristics and foreign elements. The principles of all deposition techniques and the conditions of deposition with an appraisal of each deposition technique are reviewed. Some low cost processings and influencing factors of CIGS thin films are introduced in detail. A brief description of development of the thin film solar cells is given. The development tendency of the thin film solar cells is prospected at the end of the paper.
