Abstract

Symbols as vehicles of culture bear the core of a nation's spirit.Literature,with language as its major vehicle,instills all cultural qualities in the linguistic symbols,with the spiritual core included in both the signified and the signifier.As an earliest literary work in Shaanxi,The Book of Songs: Qin Customs not only reflects the formation of the Qin tribe but also its culture of highly regarding martial art.The Qin culture takes on diverse colors after its absorbing the rites and music from the Zhou culture.
