Threat and protection measurement of Hepu seagrass beds in Guangxi

The field investigation and sample questionnaire among the relative inhabitants were carried out in HePu seagrass beds of Guangxi in Jul.2003.The results showed that the local economic development and residents' living hve high depend upon the seagrass in the sea area.The artificial destroy was the main factor which led to the degenerating of seagrass beds,including digging Sipunculus nudus Linnaeuses,Phascolosoma esculentaes,and shellfishes,fishing by trawling,aquaculture etc;The result and effect showed that the sake of increasing income was the main reason which brought the artificial factor.General analysis for the main problems during the protection and management were made,the relevant protecting measures were advanced finally.
