Abstract
To investigate relationship of the apoptosis and expression of bcl-2 and p53 protein in gastric cancer with pre-operation chemotherapy, 120 patients were divided into two groups, 62 cases in treated group and 58 cases in control group. In treated group, patients were injected 5-FU into vein for 3 days. TUNEL method was used for gastric cell apoptosis and immunohistochemistry (S-P) was adopted to detect the expression of bcl-2 and p53 protein.Apoptosis index in 24, 48, 72 hour post-treatment was 0.11±0.02, 0.14±0.02 and 0.16±0.03 respectively in treated group, and 0.08±0.01, 0.07±0.01 and 0.07±0.01 respectively in control group. There was significant difference(P0.01) in control group and no difference(P05)in treated group.50.0%/53.3%,23.3%/50.0% and 9.7%/48.3% cases in two groups have the high expression of bcl-2 in 24,48,72 hour post-treatment, meanwhile 25.0%/21.4%, 33.3%/23.3% and 25.8%/20.7% cases in two groups have the high expression of p53 in 24, 48,72 hour post-treatment.Compared with control group, the expression of bcl-2 was significantly lower(P0.05) in treated group, but there was no difference(P05) in expression of p53 between two groups. The result revealed that there was a correlation between gastric cancer cell apoptosis and 5-FU.Meanwhile, there was correlation between 5-FU and bcl-2 protein expression.
