The Historical View of Literature and 'Neo-historicism'

Neither old historicism nor historical materialism,the return of neohistoricism,drawing some components of post-structuralism(especially Foucaults archaeology of Knowledge and genealogy),attempts to combine the traditional historical view and modern cultural criticism.It is entirely different from Marxist historical view of literature which attaches much importance to the profound experience and incisive analysis of social reality as well as the cognition of text.In fact,it aemires the existence condition of small history in big history,which brings history into literature by maneuvering a strategy of constituting periphery,in other words,by means of a narrative approach of microcosmic politics instead of macrocosmic politics.
