Abstract
Orthogonal method was adopted to investigate the degradation behavior of 4-toluene sulfonic acid(4-TSA) photocatalyzed by TiO2 under ultraviolet(UV) irradiation. The main factors affecting the photocatalytic oxidation-degradation reaction, including pH values, dosage of catalyst, irradiation intensity and reaction time were studied in details. Results show that there exist optimum pH value, dosage of catalyst, irradiation intensity and reaction time under a certain reaction condition.Depending on the effect on the photocatalytic oxidation-degradation reaction, various factors can be sequentially ranked as UV irradiation time irradiation intensity pH dosage of catalyst.Under the optimized conditions(irradiation time 120 min, irradiation intensity 500 W,pH = 3,and catalyst dosage 80 mg/L),4-TSA can be completely degraded.
