Abstract

Objective To discuss the clinic value of high frequency ultrasound and color Doppler ultrasonography in the diagnosis of indirect inguinal hernia and its complications. Methods Preoperative ultrasonographic and clinical manifestations of 59 cases of indirect inguinal hernia were analyzed retrospectively. Results Among the 59 cases with indirect inguinal hernia, 39 cases were reducible hernia, 3 cases were sliding hernia, 15 cases were incarcerated indirect hernia (among them 1 case was with testicular torsion and 3 cases were with hydrocele) and 2 cases were circular ligament cyst of uterus with indirect hernia. The diagnostic accuracy rate of ultrasonography was 94.92%. Conclusion High frequency ultrasound and color Doppler technique display the content of indirect inguinal hernia and its blood supply. And they are of practical value in clinical diagnose and therapy.
