Abstract

A gearbox for wind turbine generator is used for the present analysis.Finite element method is adopted for the analysis of 3-D frictional contact problem of belical gear and hollow shaft.Calculations on interference fits of various load cases, magnitudes of interference and coefficients of friction are performed. Finally, the impact of loads, interference and coefficients of friction on distribution of contact pressure and friction stress are presented.
