Abstract

Objective; To evaluate the effect of oral acetylspiramycin on the plasma concentration of baicalin in rats. Methods; The rats were randomly supplemented with baicalin ( 34 mg·kg-1,ig)alone or combination of acetylspiramycin (333 mg·kg-1, ig, bid, 3d) and baicalin (34 mg·kg-1, ig). Plasma concentrations of baicalin in the 2 groups were determined by HPLC with electrochemical detection (ECD).The pharmacokinetic parameters were evaluated by statistical analysis. Results; The pharmaco-kinetics parameters of the combination- and mono-regimen were Cmax(785. 84±401. 23)vs. (2645.62±601.42)ng·mL-1, and AUC0-24h( 11 564.27±5 585.65) vs. (28 952.90±5 731.42)ng·h·mL-1, respectively; the P values showed significant difference (P 0. 05). Conclusion; Adjuvant therapy of acetylspiramycin with baicalin significantly intervenes the plasma concentration of baicalin.
