Abstract

[Objective]To observe the indicators change of oxidative stress of patients with silicosis, and explore the mechanism of the development of silicosis.[Methods]Indicators of oxidative stress in serum including superoxide dismutase(SOD),nitric oxide(NO),serum glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px),total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC),nitric oxide synthase(NOS),and lipid malondialdehyde(MDA) were determined in 100 cases of control group,200 cases of dust-exposed group,32 of observed object group and 130 of silicosis patients group.[Results]Compared with the control group,in dust-exposed group and silicosis group NO,GSH-Px were significantly increased, and SOD were decreased significantly(P0.05,P0.01).Compared with the control group and dust-exposed group,T-AOC,NOS,MDA levels in silicosis group were significantly increased(P0.05,P0.01).GSH-Px in the silicosis group was increased significantly(P0.01) than that in dust-exposed group.GSH-Px were increased in Ⅲ phase silicosis group than that in observation group and Ⅰ phase silicosis group(P0.05).Pearson correlation analysis showed serum GSH-Px had a significant positive correlation with silicosis staging, grouping, seniority exposed to dust, type of work(P0.01).[Conclusion]The imbalance of oxidative and anti-oxidation system is related with the occurrence and development of silicosis. The monitoring on oxidative stress indicators is beneficial to the prediction and prognosis assessment of silicosis.
