Abstract
Confucianism has been regarded as the mainstream in China's traditional culture,and ever since the Song Dynasty Confucianism has been generalized as doctrines of Confucius and Mencius, and thus Mencius became a person who developed Confucianism. As a matter of fact, there are essential differences between Confucius and Mencius in their social ideas and they have had different influences upon China' s history.
