Theory and Practice in Internationalization of Higher Education:Focus on the research of the connotations,elements and trends of internationalization

Internationalization of higher education has different meanings in different countries and regions. In order to have an overall understanding on the internationalization of higher education,this paper mainly focused on the connotations and elements of the internationalization of higher education through the summary of previous research literature. On this basis,the development trend of the internationalization of higher education is researched. Ultimately,it draws the following conclusions: the connotations of the internationalization of higher education are composed of three angles which are process theory, atmosphere theory and system theory; and economic dynamics,technology and international policy factors collectively promote the development trend of the internationalization of higher education.
