Abstract
A Bacillus strain was isolated from muck of Chongming which had high endo-β-glucanase producing ability proved by the Congo red dying method on culture plates. Optimal growing conditions of the strain were 37~42℃, pH value 7.0~8.0. It showed that the optimal pH value and temperature of cellulase activity (CMCase) were pH8.0 and 50℃, and the maximal activity of CMCase is 68.6 U/ml. In addition, Ca2+, Cu2 + and Co2+ were the activators, Cd2+ and Pb2+ were the inhibitors of the enzyme. The cellulase was insensitive to ethanol.
