Effects of Alfalfa Extract on Recipient Forage Seed Germination Rate

Abstract

The effects of extracts of alfalfa root,stem,leaves and soil on Medicago sativa,Agropyron mongolicum,Psathyrostachys jucea,Onobrychis vicifolia and Bromus inermis seed germination rate were studied.The results showed that there were significant differences in effects of extracts of alfalfa root,stem,leaves and soil in different concentration on seed germination rate of different recipient forages,extracts of alfalfa roots,stems,leaves and soil had promotional effects on seed germination of Bromus inermis,while had inhibitive effects on seed germination of Agropyron mongolicum,Psathyrostachys jucea,Onobrychis vicifolia,Medicago sativa.
