Impact of nursing intervention for stroke patients with dysphagia

Objective To explore the impact of nursing intervention for stroke patients with dysphagia.Methods All of 120 patients with dysphagia in stroke patients hospitalized from Feb 2008 to Oct 2009,they were divided into two groups.Control group for routine care,rehabilitation group for nursing intervention,swallowing ability test scale used the system to observe the occurrence of complications,and assessed the efficacy at hospital discharge.Results Nursing intervention in patients with dysphagia after stroke can be self-conscious,effective use of compensatory eating skills.Taken the initiative to take appropriate eating position,choosed the right foods and convenience ableware.Achieved food self-care,prevention of complications.Conclusion Nursing interventions should be early intervention,help the therapist for dysphagia management,through nursing interventions to prevent complications and to restore swallowing ability,to ensure food security and achieve self-care.
