Abstract

Objective To study the relationship between fecal occult blood and colorectal disease to indicate the role of fecal occult blood test in the diagnosis of colorectal diseases. Methods The fecal occult blood testing results of the patients checked by colonoscopy in endoscopy room at Jiuting hospital of Songjiang District in Shanghai city from March2012 to March 2014 were collected, and the relationship between fecal occult blood and colorectal disease was analyzed combined with the results of the colonoscopy. Results The positive rate of occult blood test in colorectal cancer, ysplasia, inflammatory bowel disease,adenoma,non-adenomatous polyp, intestinal inflammatory and no abnormality was83.33%,83.33%,66.67%,61.67%,39.22%,33.33%,6.16% respectively. The positive rate of occult blood in colorectal cancer was respectively higher than non-adenomatous polyp, intestinal inflammatory, normal intestinal mucosa(P0.05).The positive rate of occult blood in precancerous lesion(adenoma, dysplasia) was respectively higher than non-adenomatous polyp, intestinal inflammatory, normal intestinal mucosa(P0.05). Conclusion Fecal occult blood has more important relationship with colorectal cancer and precancerous lesion,so it is very nessesary for fecal occult blood test for screening colorectal cancer and precancerous lesion early.
