Abstract
Objective:To study the relationship between blood pressure variability and long-term prognosis of elderly patients with acute partial anterior circulation infarct(PACI).Methods:A total of 80 PACI patients in Zhoupu Hospital in Shanghai Pudong New Area from January to December 2011 were enrolled. The blood pressure within 14 days after admission was monitored. Both National Institutes of Health stroke scale(NIHSS) and modified Barthel index(MBI) were measured at admission,14 days of onset and 3 months. The relationship between blood pressure variability and prognosis was analyzed. Results:In 80patients,68 cases completed the 3-month follow-up.At onset,58(85.3%) cases were with high blood pressure, and blood pressure of some patients dropped within a week.At 3 months the NIHSS score and mBI.In patients whose systolic blood pressure dropped 10%-20%,5%-10%and ≥20%within 7 days were significanthy different.Howevere,at 3 months,NIHSS scores and mBIs had no correlation with diastolic blood pressure variability within 7 days. Conclusions:In elderly acute PACI patients, systolic blood pressure variability within 6 days after onset was related to the long-term prognosis.
