Abstract
A method for the determination of organophosphate pesticides, dichlorvos, phorate, dimethoate and parathion, in human plasma is described by solid extraction-gas chromatography with flame photometric detection. The recovery rates of all the pesticides from blood are above 74%, while the RSD is from 7.8% to 20.0%. The detection limit is 10 μg/L for phorate and parathion, and 5 μg/L for dichlorvos and dimethoate. There is little interference from impurities in the method. It has been used to detect samples from clinical poisoned patients, and proved to be simple, sensitive and accurate.
