Abstract
The development status of modern coal gasification technology is reviewed Analysis on the development concepts for several typical gasification processes has been conducted Based on the thermodynamics and kinetics of carbon gasification, the principle of future coal gasification development is proposed Because air separation for oxygen making with high capital investment and operation cost seriously hinders the progress of coal gasification, on the one hand, R D of advanced air separation technology should be addressed and speeded up; on the other hand, lower oxygen consumption gasification process might be developed as well by using integration concept From the theoretical and experimental basis it can be seen that slagging fixed bed gasification with pulverized coal injection (two grade particle size stock), entrained flow gasification with two or more stages of dry coal feeding and partial gasification in fluidized bed integrated with entrained flow gasifying or CFB combustion have good prospect
