Abstract
Based on the data of experimental research, the failure processes of shaped-steel reinforced concrete special-shaped columns are analyzed. It is indicated that the failure processes are similar and can be described as three stages,i.e.the elastic stage,elastic-plasitc stage and failure stage. The L-shaped column undergoes the biaxial bending failure under axial loading, and compared with the ordinary columns, the shaped-steel columns can resist the biaxial bending failure effectively. Then the calculation formula for axial compression bearing capacity of the shape-steel reinforced concrete special-shaped columns is suggested for design.
