Informal Employment:A Theoretical Explanation of Three-tiered Labor Market

Abstract

Lewis' dual economy,Todaro Model and Three-sector Model could not explain informal employment in formal sectors and passive informal employment.To compensate for this,the paper refers to the three-tiered labor market theory to explain the causes of informal employment.On this basis,active and passive types of informal employment are discussed from an economic point of view.
