Abstract
Objective To improve the technique of bloodless hepatectomy to elevate the resectable rate of massive hepatic tumors. Methods The clinical data of 11 cases of massive hepatic tumors treated in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed to discuss the application of selective exclusion of the hepatic veins in hepatectomy. Results Only 1 patient received transfusion of 400 ml blood during the operation. Application of selective exclusion of the hepatic veins in hepatectomy provided a safe operative procedure for hepatic surgery. Conclusions Use of selective exclusion of the hepatic veins can increase the rate of resection for massive hepatic tumors.
