Abstract
The elements of 会党, Huidang ( parties opposing Qing Dynasty and trying to restore Ming Dynasty) played important roles in the capitalist’s armed revolution initiated by Sun Yat-sen. However, the academic circle mostly denies it. Actually, it was a natural realistic choice to turn to Huidang for help, rather than a military adventure isolated from the masses. Sun Yat -sen and the revolutionary parties reformed Huidang, although not enough. After 1908, the capitalists’ parties began to pay attention to the New Army Corps, but Huidang was still the major force of revolution in this stage. This stage is that of New Army Corps plus Huidang. The idea of the so-called input revolution is actually the negligence of the Huidang elements in Sun Yat-sen’s armed revolution.
