UMTS Network Security Research

As a 3G mobile communication technology standard evolving from GSM,UMTS supports much higher data transfer rate than GSM,thus it can provide more mobile applications such as electronic commerce,electronic payment,stock trade,mobile game,mobile video other than just the conventional audio and low rate applications.As UMTS is widely used and it carries plenty of applications,its security problem becomes critical.UMTS inherites security advantage of GSM,and provides more secure service and authorization procedure.Though UMTS is much safer than GSM,UMTS still encounter news safety challenge.
