Abstract
Objective:To estimate and compare the curative effects of tympanoplasty between sandwich method and underlay method. Methods:302 ears of 280 patients were retrospectively analyzed from the healing rate of tympanic membrane, the rate of thinness and the rate of improvement of audition. Results:The rate of closure of perforation of tympanic membrane was 94.3% in sandwich method group and 84.4% in underlay method; The rate of thinness was 0 in sandwich method group and 24.2% in underlay method; The hearing recovery of sandwich method group was better than that of underlay method group. Conclusion:The sandwich method of myringoplasty is an ideal method for healing perforation of tympanic membrane.
