Metadata Management System Research and Implementation

Metadata is data that describes data.With the rapid development of information technology,metadata plays a key role in the process of geospatial information sharing.Metadata has its own standard.The standard's primary role is to introduce the elements of metadata and classification applications,which provides some basic principles of building a database,and metadata management resolution based on XML-format.This paper is to study the metadata management,standards for metadata,and provide the function of building a metadata database,editing metadata,importing and exporting metadata,querying metadata and management of interrelated catalog.
