Abstract
The effects of polyethene glycol 20000 and sodium dodecyl sulfate on the dispersion of magnesium zinc ferrite slurry prepared by ball milling dispersion were studied. Meanwhile, the mechanisms of the different dispersants were also investigated. The results showed that the dispersants can improve the dispersion of magnesium zinc ferrite effectively. The dispersion mechanisms of polyethene glycol 20000 are electrostatic and steric hindrance, and sodium dodecyl sulfate are electrostatic hindrance. Each dispersant has its optimal dosages. The X-ray diffraction patterns prove that the dispersants do not change the composition of magnesium zinc ferrite.
