Abstract

The operation principles and technical feature of Electric Submersible Progressing Cavity Pump(ESPCP) were introduced, and the principles and methods for electing key components, such as gear reducer, stator and flex shaft assembly were described. The pilot test of ESPCP on heavy oil production in F-S Oilfield in Ecuador shows that pump detection period is prolonged obviously, which is raised from 48d to 600d,and ESPCP is an economical and efficient method to produce heavy oil with sand.
