Abstract

Objectives Atorvastatin was used to treat familial hypercholesterolemia and its pharmacological action was investigated. Methods 95 patients with familial hypercholesterolemia were treated with atorvastatin at the dose of 10mg/d for one month. Results After one month treatment , all the patients took a turn for the better, which was reflected in the decrease in TC, TG, LDL-C and CRP as well as the increase in HDL-C.Conclusion Atorvastatin can be used safely and effectively to treat familial hypercholesterolemia.
