Abstract

Objective: To analyze the chromosomal karyotypes of 268 couples with spontaneous abortion, to study the relationship between chromosomal abnormality with spontaneous abortion. Methods: Detected chromosomal karyotypes of the patients by culturing peripheral blood lymphocytes, using G-banding techniques. Results: We detected 28 cases of chromosomal abnormalities in 536 patients, the frequency was 5.22%,including 16 cases of balanced translocation、4 cases of Robertsonian translocation、8 cases of pericentric inversion. And 20 cases of chromosome polymorphisms were detected, the frequency was 3.73%(20/536). Conclusion: Chromosomal abnormality is one of the important causes of spontaneous abortion. Chromosome studies on spontaneous abortions have important significance.
