Abstract

Aiming at the shortcomings of existing methods of Bogus Three Dimension Variation Assimilation(3DVAR) ,this paper introduces some objective factors such as the typhoon moving speed, direction into constructing the asymmetric Bogus wind model, which combines with QuikSCAT wind field product to improve model initial fields. It is found that,by contrasting initial field increment, the assimilation of Bogus data can better revise the whole-column initial field including the high-altitude anti-cyclonic circulation and the QuikSCAT wind field data improve mainly the bottom circulation so that the typhoon center are corrected, and partly make up this shortage of the Bogus impacting limited scope. Then the experiment schemes are designed to simulate the strengthening phase of Typhoon Rananim. The results show that, under constraints of the variation assimilation system, the background field,Bogus data and QuikSCAT wind field are combined in harmony, and improve the typhoon simulation of track and intensity, and especially improvements of the inside and outside physical fileds have a significant positive effect to the typhoon simulation.
