Abstract
A pair of specific primers were designed and synthesized according to the sequence of bovine β-defensin gene published in GenBank.Total cellular RNA was prepared from Holstein dairy cattle neutrophil cell by using total RNA isolation kit.The β-defesion gene was cloned and inserted into expression vector pQE-30 to get prokaryotic expression plasmids pQE-30/BNBD-7.This study showed that the β-defesion gene of Holstein cattle was 189 bp,coding 61 amino acids, and shared 95.6% homology with the BNBD-7 sequence registered in GenBank. The result of this research is helpful to further study of expression, biological function and activity.
