The Analysis of Metallogenic Potential for Zhaishang Gold Deposit in Gansu Province

Zhaishang gold deposit is another exceptional large deposit detected by the Gold Exploration Branch of Armed Police in west Qinling area in the recent years,which is located in the middle part of west Qinling belt,and western part of Xinsi-Dacaotan anticlinorium in Lintan-Tianshui fold belt.It is located in the western end of the Minxian-Lixian metallogenetic zone.The deposit comprises two ore zones,i.e.,the northern one and the southern one.The former lies in the northern limb of the inversion anticline in the mining area,with tabular or tabularoid ore bodies,relatively large scale and flat mode of occurrence.The latter is in the southern limb of the inversion anti-cline,near the core,with tabular ore bodies,relatively small scale and steep features of occurrence.The mining area,together with the large-superlarge deposit of Yangshan and Luerba,lies in the convergence area of the top of Qil-ianshan-Longmenshan arcuate zone and the EW structure belt.The favorable geophysical and geochemical anomaly matches well with the vein in this area.There is still partial geophysical and geochemical anomaly in the extension part of the vein,even in the western area overlaid by the thick Tertiary sand breccia and it is verified that anomaly exists in the No.160 prospecting line.Based on the research achievements of deposits in Qinling area and the ele-vation statistics of the ore controlling,we believe that the Zhaishang gold deposit has a potential to be a superlarge gold deposit.
