Abstract

Recent progresses in the mapping function of atmospheric refraction and several frequently used mapping functions were reviewed.Several mapping function models widely used in modern space techniques today were discussed.NMF model,Which is widely used in radio range at present,was discussed and ways for improvement were proposed.Generator function theory of atmospheric refraction developed by Shanghai Astronomical Observatory in recent years as well as analytic solution in astronomical refraction to that was introduced.The new continued fraction of the mapping function for refractive delay obtained from the generator function theory of atmospheric refraction was well as the advantage of the mapping function theory of astronomical atmospheric refraction was analyzed.A way to improve the ranging accuracy of optical frequencies was proposed.On the basis of the data acquired by sounding balloon,the influence of the atmospheric model on the calculation of atmospheric refraction was discussed.
